Gaël Monfils flew to the US at the start of March for the US swing. It is always a special moment of the season for him as he has always enjoyed tremendous support from the American crowd over the years.

Gaël performed really well by defeating world number one Daniil Medvedev in the 3rd round. He was then beaten by future world number one Carlos Alcaraz in the last 16.

He played his next event in Miami at the end of the month. He defeated Oscar Otte from Germany in the 2nd round before losing to Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo in the last 16.

Back in Europe, Gaël Monfils travelled to Monte-Carlo for the Masters 1000 where he was scheduled to play his first round match against Hubert Hurkacz.

Due to a foot injury which prevented him from moving freely, and after consulting the doctors, he was forced to retire. The injury was later diagnosed as right heel spur and would continue to cause him trouble over the course of the season.

Gaël was forced to leave the Tour for some time before coming back in Madrid for the Masters 1000.
